The clients’ brief was to upgrade the hotel to a more luxurious one and generate higher revenue. Located at the junction of two important regional roads, this hotel presented us with an
exciting opportunity to utilize its visibility from these thoroughfares.

A combination of contemporary design vocabulary along with design cues from traditional Sikkimese art and architecture was synthesized to arrive at the design that also kept in mind the target guest profile. The rooms have been created using traditional motifs print on the back wall with a bold background colour. The lobby is replete with warm, inviting wood in the form of traditional frames suspended from ceiling. The rooftop which functions as a banquet hall features a bamboo structure built in modules which are prefabricated and arranged on the site.

The façade of the banquet hall is made of fabric and is interchangeable for different occasions.
