Humble, modest and simple is the house located on the generational property of the client in Agra.

Enclosed on three sides, the front façade is donned with balconies, extruded volumes and huge windows. The plinth and the planters in the front make the three-story structure seem light and the extrusions floating. Exposed brick and stone form the exterior facade to show the authenticity of the construction material. Done in rat trap bond for better insulation to suit the climate. The choice of materials and colors give the house an imperfect sense yet complete as to not overpower the existing construction on the plot.

The interior extends the theme further with a white terrazzo flooring and the stone clad wall. The skylight accentuates the stairwells, provides light to all the levels of the house and help in extending the garden indoors while forging the sense of extending expanse of space.

Saraswat House is framed by the light and greens encasing the house thus making the house simultaneously enclosed and open. An experiment in exposing the true form of the materials, humble and simple while being a comfortable abode for a family of three.
